This year in March, the Polish Armed Forces announced that the Polish branch of GLOMEX Military Supplies won the tender for delivery of over six hundred off-road pick-ups by offering Nissan Navara vehicles.
However, at the end of May the French-Japanese automotive manufacturer announced that, due to the coronavirus crisis, it would be closing its Spanish factory, where these vehicles are manufactured, this year. The option of assuring delivery of Nissan Navara vehicles made in the South African Republic was considered, but their specifics did not comply with the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces.
In the end our colleagues managed to negotiate a substitute solution with the Polish Ministry of Defence: Glomex MS Polska will deliver Fords to Polish soldiers instead of Nissan vehicles. Specifically the Ford Ranger XLT in the required previous specification, i.e., including run-flat tyres, metal protection of the engine underside and a hard top aluminium cover over the bed. Moreover, these vehicles will actually be provided for a better price than the original offer.
